Casa da Gente, meaning Our House was designed to promote a differentiated experience for the elderly. It was designed for members of a family that intends to use space to create a joint experience between the new and old generations.
The project was implemented in practically flat terrain, with slope only in its northwest plot. The three ground blocks are unified by a slab in solid concrete, which forms an internal space of coexistence, dominated mainly by the presence of an atrium.
The functions of the house are organized individually, in sectors. The spaces of collective coexistence are located below the concrete slab unifying the ground blocks, witch encompass the functions of dormitory, services and kitchen.
The layout of the internal spaces was determined by the users' circulation flows. The main regulatory flows were those of access, employees, residents, leisure and sports activities.
The remaining spaces between blocks form green pockets, created to allow users contemplate the external landscape.
The main entrance hall is occupied by a curved volume where the residence library is located
